Just to clarify up my intention (although I realize that it comes across as all 'high & mighty' to people who don't know me).
The point of me saying I was 1K (and I didn't say it in a snobby way) was this: ... it was just a more compact way of saying "I fly on these planes all the time. I know technically what I'm allowed to bring on the plane. These will fit under the seat & in the overhead so you don't have to worry about coming back to my seat later & helping me wedge the stuff in."
As opposed to the 1x year holiday pax who fumbles around for 10 min holding up the aisle while trying to get all his presents in the overhead.
I didn't say it to "impress" the guy that's for sure since I knew it wouldn't make a modicum of difference. As far as I can tell, the UX FAs (and gate agents for that matter) don't give a hoot about UA frequent fliers (1K or not). Has a FA on any EX flt ever personally said to you "Oh, you're UGS/1K/2P/1P -- thanks for flying with United"? or Have you ever been to the "G"reyhound terminal at IAD? We are all just cows in a big cattle herd there & all they are concerned about is shoving us on the buses, er planes. Round 'em up & move 'em out!! And certainly no UX employee cares if we frequent fliers complain about them. Heck, they don't even care if the UA service directors or mgmt complains about them.
