Actually, I've received a Delta voucher and it was set to expire next month. A couple of months ago I bought some tix for October (after the fly by date) with the voucher, and last month I spent the rest (an MCO) on some tix in March.
All the vouchers said that I had to fly before the expiration in September, but my CTO was very good about just taking them. (I was all prepared to say nevermind and just cancel the res if they pointed out the date.) For all of these I put the res on hold over the phone then went to the CTO.
Of course your mileage may vary.
