I don't have much hope that HKG-PEK will earn me any AA miles. If CX were to credit me AA miles, they have to take my AAdvantage number into their CUPID system. If CX metal is my first leg, they might have my FFP number. If I need to get the AC boarding pass at the transit desk, I don't think AC interlines their system so well to credit AA miles through CX CUPID.
