They rebooked her on AA through DFW, and when she went over to the their ticket counter they refused to take as they said they were full even though she had a reservation. She went back to DL and they booked her on the non-stop tomorrow morning. There was a non-stop this evening at 6pm, but they refused to put her on the standby list as she was not platinum. This non-stop was a jungle jet and was sold to 51 with 50 seats. I called SMS to see if they would help, but the best they could do was to straighten out the mess that the DAY TC had made of her reservation and make sure that she had a seat on the flight tomorrow morning. They would not budge on putting her on the standby list.

I know that DL have elected to be one of the only airlines in the US not to have a standby program for non-elite travellers, but due to circumstances like this shouldn't they bend a little? Maybe I am dreaming.

Her future trips to Orlando will likely not be on DL. Lost another one to Airtran.
At least they tried to put her on another airline. They are not required to do so, and it's not SOP for them to put you on OAL. You know the delays yesterday were because of weather in ATL - more than likely her flight to MCO would have been delayed as well. What I don't get is you are upset because they couldn't get her on an already sold out flight? She would have been wasting her time more than likely going to MCO. I think they did well enough attempting to get her on OAL - but maybe that's just me.
