I am not sure if I expect too much from Delta just because I am a customer, but this afternoon my daughter was scheduled to flight DAY/ATL/MCO. The DAY to ATL was delayed due to weather, and it was very likely that she would miss her connection in ATL, and all the later flights from ATL to MCO were sold out. They rebooked her on AA through DFW, and when she went over to the their ticket counter they refused to take as they said they were full even though she had a reservation. She went back to DL and they booked her on the non-stop tomorrow morning. There was a non-stop this evening at 6pm, but they refused to put her on the standby list as she was not platinum. This non-stop was a jungle jet and was sold to 51 with 50 seats. I called SMS to see if they would help, but the best they could do was to straighten out the mess that the DAY TC had made of her reservation and make sure that she had a seat on the flight tomorrow morning. They would not budge on putting her on the standby list.

I know that DL have elected to be one of the only airlines in the US not to have a standby program for non-elite travellers, but due to circumstances like this shouldn't they bend a little? Maybe I am dreaming.

Her future trips to Orlando will likely not be on DL. Lost another one to Airtran.
