No go for me on getting extra miles from the retention dept. I called this afternoon and tried to get an extra 5k since I only got 15k when I signed up in the fall. She claimed the 20k offer was 10k in free miles and 10k in "advance" miles. In order words, I wouldn't earn any miles on the first 10k in charges. Didn't make sense to me, but I wasn't in a mood to argue with her either. Since I'm not in a position to cancel at the moment, I will wait until I pay off this month's charges and then try again.
