I have to admit i am very shocked by the down right mean nature of this forum. I served three years on the Talkboard. One year, as your first president. I co host an event with Continental airliness for 500 frequent flyers a year. I help many thousands of flyertalkers though my event and the help I try to provide in the CO forum. This forum seems to want to attack people for being FAT and just plain insult me.
Okay, perhaps their is a "cultural difference". Ever hear of POLITELY explaining it? Instead most of you just acted like a bunch of A******S I try and be patient with SKYteam passangers when they ask question in the CO forum. You guys give FlyerTalk a bad name.

Now to adress the incorrect points made about my post. I did ask TWICE to two different flight attendants for a belt. They both "promised" to bring it after the demo. As soon as the demo was over they were gone. No seat belt check, nothing. It was like "done" then the plane took right off. As a fat guy, I get very tired of FA's "forgetting" to bring the belt on the first request. I often have to ask two or three times. It is VERY important to me to have a seat belt. I am shocked that you all feel it is a luxury item.
Second, I was born with bad genetics. very member of my family for generations is very large. So be it. I can't chage that. You could of course change being jerks about it. I paid for a first class ticket. I didn't fly in coach and put my big butt in half your seat. So instead of thanking me for that... you mock my weight.
And yes, I type horribly and cannot spell. Another reason why somehow they are right in not providing good service?
And the people imply I want punitive damages and some "windfall". I paid something like $5,000. How is request 10% of that amount back some huge windfall? I think people are drinking too many Fosters in this forum.
The whole concept of their was "no damage" eludes me. I paid for certain things in my ticket price. A seat belt for takeoff was one. Second, good customer service is another. When you pay 10 times the coach ticket price you expect better service. I have never written a complaint to an airline before. I would have let it go if they would have been apologetic or helpful after the fact on the plane. But they just didn't care one iota. I find it very difficult to believe this represent the Australian culture. But, perhaps I am wrong. They did have those big race riots in Sydney last month. Maybe they are uncaring, rude people? I doubt it. But this forum sure is changing my thoughts. Clearly, you have no customer service expectations. And clearly, you just pay your hard earned money, and are never entitled to ANY of it back no matter how badly the vendor messes up. Good to know. I'll fly CX next time.
