Glad to hear it

After I told them I would consider that as an option, I was handed off to a "supervisor", and both times was told that while they couldn't waive the fees "because they're imposed by American Airlines", they could offer a credit equal to the amount I was being charged in annual fees. Frankly, I don't care what they call it as long as I'm not paying it. I guess the magic word is "cancel". Miles were not offered either time as a solution, but both times the supervisor read from a script thanking me for being "such a valuable Citi customer".
Glad to hear you got the credit. I recently got the credit card. They were offering 15,000 miles plus fee waived for one year. After applying online, I saw an ad for 20,000 miles! I was going to call them up and complain about it, but after my first purchase, I did indeed receive the 20,000 miles. I will call up before my anniversary to see if I can get my fee "credited" as well. Thanks.
