Robert,

Congratulations! In response to your question, I am certain that Delta awards allow at least one stopover. Partner awards are another story. The rules may vary from airline to airline.

Regarding destinations, I've been to Bali and highly recommend it (just avoid the crowded beaches at the southern end). Northern Thailand is also a fine place for a honeymoon. I don't believe that I'd like to spend my honeymoon in Singapore or most of Malaysia (but perhaps the Borneo provinces would be OK). I've never been to Tahiti, but you probably can't go wrong with that choice.

This is just a thought, but with so much advance notice, why use awards? You can buy very cheap tickets to most desirable destinations when you plan months ahead of time. Then you can earn miles, not spend them! Think about upgrades, too, although I don't believe that the "free" Delta certificates can be used with any partners.
