I, too, am faced with the decision of continuing to accrue in DM or bolt to UA MP. Have been US1 past 2 years, and will be through 2/07. Will really miss the rollover segments since I will drop at least 1 level after that (less travel during the first quarter of '06 will almost certainly put US1 out of reach without rollover). Activity should return to prior level in the 2nd quarter of '06.
Only other wrinkle is that my wife and I will probably be traveling at least 3-4 times/yr for forseeable future to BZN. No code-share on US since it is a UA Express destination. On the longer haul from CLT-DEN it sure is nice to be in the front cabin but have even seen that segment occasionally scheduled for an RJ from UA Express. So far have accrued the segments/miles CLT-DEN-BZN to the DM account but am wondering whether I should move all activity to MP. Any advice? Will try to get a status match with UA in any event.
Last alternative is NW, that offers one-stop service through Minneapolis. MD80 CLT-MSP (?) and A320 to/from BZN. Am a little hesitant to roll the dice with NW with them being in Chapter 11 and the conventional wisdom seeming to be that one of the legacy carriers needs to go out of business (FlyI doesn't count). Most of my routine flying is up and down the east coast so would probably have a lot of codeshares on CO connecting in EWR if I went with NW. Any words of wisdom?
Thanks
