Whoever initially sits in BizElite should make a big point to the FAs that the spouse is in steerage and the front-cabin spouse will be trading almost as soon as the plane is airborne. (You know, just so the FA's won't be confused when somebody else shows up -- wink, wink.)

If it doesn't work the first time, the replacement spouse should try the same thing. If there are free seats in BizElite, this has a fair chance of working.

If it doesn't work, or BizElite is full, you can consider trading with the coach cabin spouse's neighbor, and show your devotion to each other by flying together in coach. Few steerage pax will forego such a trade, and FA's MAY give you free champagne (oh, all right, sekt) since you show such devotion to each other.

Best of luck.

"Service" should be a noun, not a verb.
