Hello all-

I'm flying out of ONT on Sunday morning at 7am, staying at the airport Doubletree the night before.

There's a slight chance that my ONT-ATL flight will be overbooked... in which case, I very much plan on volunteering.

But rather than stay at the airport until the noon flight to ATL, I was thinking that I'd just go back to the hotel and relax in my room (which should be mine until noon, in theory).

However, I'm wondering what the front desk reaction will be if the maid 'reports' that the room has been vacated.

I'm not really sure how it works when you do express checkout and don't notify the front desk that you're leaving. Do you think I'd have any problems? Do I have a 'right' to that room (or any room) until noon? Anybody have any experience with this scenario?
