I respectfully disagree with your advice. BR's sweet spot is ED, which is quite a value for around $800 rt from LAX or SFO. It's business class, on the other hand, as you noted, is most unimpressive. If you're going to fork out for business (and TPE is a good market in which to sample J at reasonable prices), why not fly an airline with a better product (SQ, MH, even CI) that matches fares?
