My general rule of thumb for all RCs is if I plan to be at or near the hotel for anything more than sleep, then I'll get a Club room...so since the purpose of your stay is a wedding reception in the hotel it would certainly trigger a Club room booking for me.

I really like the look and feel of the entire hotel and the Club. The Club is fitted with wood everywhere and has very nice views of the city. The food presentations are not the best of the RC system, but are still very good.

The rooms are not standardized. For example, some do not have bathtubs and only a shower. That being said, even the shower-only bathrooms are easily the best bathrooms of any standard bathroom of all Philadelphia hotels, so it's not the end of the world. But if you like taking baths, be sure to ask for a room that has a tub. Also...I've found that the rooms do not have enough lighting. That is a general complaint, so there is not much you can do about that based on room selection.

I'd assume the bride and groom have already booked it, but if you feel like springing for the top floor suite...it is very nice. It has its own elevator from the Club up to it and has a fully fitted quarter to half floor of space.

Make sure you stop by the Vault for a drink. I like how it is tucked away in the corner of the property. Also be sure to note that the hotel has developed a loyal clientele of locals on the weekends for afternoon tea in the Rotunda and the night-time chocolate buffet. As a result, I have found the service levels at the dining venues are more consistent during the week. Since it appears you'll be there over the weekened, it is even more reason to book the Club as you can enjoy the same food and beverage at tea time in the semi-self serve atmosphere of the Club lounge.
