Looks like UA is trying to maximize revenue by offering to confirm an upgrade at the time of booking for a few dollars more than the cost in 500 mile e-upgrades. I haven't had a problem with upgrades clearing as a 1P, but I went ahead and bit this one time. Is this getting to be common?
