The real reason that I'm peeved is that a mate phoned me asking me to go out and watch the football later. I told him no (in a meeting), then probably yes (meeting finished early), and now definately no (bloody BA).

Who dont you invite him down on a cheapie ticket. Take him into the lounge as a guest and sit there watching the footies and downing the champagne. Sounds reasonable to me.
