I've found the signs at DCA Metro station, at Rosslyn and other places in N. VA and MD to be out of service more times than I can count. Generally, they are up, but too often they are not.

I find the signs in the Tube in London and on T-bana in Stockholm to be functioning more consistently than with DC-Metro. DC Metro rising to a comparable level would be an improvement -- even if slightly more.
