Airline Cutbacks & Pizza Analogy
I read comments by the prior president of Continental. He said that the bean counters figured out that the fewer toppings you put on pizza, the cheaper it was to produce. Until one day they finally took off the cheese, and the customer stopped buying.
There may be a final straw point -- but I suspect we aren't there yet. And let's be honest, most of the legacy carrier competition ain't that great. As long as I usually get my upgrades, I'm fairly happy, although I can foresee a day when, if the upgrades stop coming through, my $$ spent on flying and travel will markedly decrease.
