Ben, the suggestions will definitely save you serious dollars and the ACIR22 is a snip (US$7100) if you have the time to go QF one way and CX the other. You just need to plan ahead a little more.
True, I forgot the North America Advance Purchase rule; too used to booking from other places where there is no AP rule
