You are getting 230kbps on a V3? Impossible.
V3 is GPRS only, which won't go any higher than 40-50kbps, even on EDGE with my K-Jam I don't get higher than 140kbps. I can only assume the test you are using is flawed, or cached...
V3x is available in the US, but is a) useless as there is no 3G and b) expensive.
