Hi All,

I have never used miles to upgrade or purchase a ticket so I really have no idea how to tackle my scenerio. I have a little more that 300,000 UMP miles that I have accumulated over the past few years. I am interested in taking my family on vacation to South Africa in January of 2007 and would like to use my miles in the best possible way to make the trip a reality.

Here are my details:
LAX - CPT
2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant
Would prefer to fly business class
Dates reasonably flexible

I really only have one specific question and that is how are upgrades or awards calculated for a child's ticket (can I upgrade a child fare?)

In a more general sense, I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some advice or reccomendations on completing my itinerary?
