I searched for MD80 whine, but got nothing. In any case, after riding a MD80 twice, it seems like these planes aren't that much quieter than regular Boeing planes. Also, they have a very high pitch whine that lasts through the entire flight. Very very annoying. Did I just get a bad plane or are they all like that?

1) Engine Noise is low
2) Wind Noise is sorta loud but acceptable
3) A constant high pitch WHINE from equipment, unbearable. It's like the whine from a TV or CRT, but not as high pitch. But staying constant and loud throughout the flight, unbearable.
