I have a Toshiba RD XS34 which uses TV Guide as the program guide at no fee. It has a 160Gbyte Hard Drive and DVD-R,DVD-RW or DVD-RAM format burner. I am very satisfied with it. It has an IR Blaster that can control a cable box including Digital Cable boxes like a Motorola DCT2000 but does not work with Dish or DirectTV. I am very satisfied with it. It does enforce Digital rights management which prevents you from burning certain programs from the Hard Disk to DVD the obvious way. It is still doable.
