I stumbled across this thread after a Google search for Amtrak promotion codes. After reading all 9 pages and finding just one code that worked for me, I played around a little bit. Noticed codes of H569, H570 and H571 so I tried H568 and hit the jackpot -- took 50% off the total -- appears to be buy one, get one. I don't know if it will work on all routings. I tried it on the Pacific Surfliner.
