14" "thick" is way too big for not just the MD-80's - the height of 21" will fit some wheels first, but not all, the width (e.g. the roughly 14" or so part) doesn't really matter anyway as wheels first width is not an issue and if in sideways 14" or so is easy to fit in a 20 " space.

But most overheads taper and the thickness is also at odds with the door and hardware but the expanded B&R (the one click one had one right?) is too thick period.

I looked at the B&R and didn't get it for that reason, though the outside hardware is a good design feature. I got a Pathfinder 20" instead.
