I spoke to the BA Executive Club and was advised to keep the receipts and write a letter to Customer Services outlining the circumstances and including the receipts.
So fingers crossed we shouldn't be too out of pocket for the expenses incurred.
The suitcase (with all the clothes) didn't turn up in time for the funeral (yesterday). So investing in new clothes was very necessary. The suitcase still hasn't shown up (and no call regarding delivery yet either), but that is a different matter...
