Here's a question. Please accept my apologies if it has been answered before.
A friend and his family were supposed to travel ATH-MUC-HAM on a LH "W" fare. Unforunately, his kids got the flu and they had to cancel their trip. LH told them that the ticket is not refundable and that they also lost the inbound portion.
Is this true? If it is true, does this apply to the fare only, or also on the taxes and surcharges? Can he get refunded the taxes, since he did not use any airport and any fuel?
