Hmmm.

How would this new system work with the situation we had recently?

I was trying to book FC award seats to and from Hawaii. Since I knew they would go fast, I called 331 days out. I could book the "out" flights, but I had to wait two weeks to book the return.

Since I didn't want to commit to the 60K SkyMiles for half of the trip, the agent put the outbound res on hold until the return tix were available.

If we had not gotten FC return, we would have downgraded the whole trip to coach.

Seems to me that the new system would make that impossible unless the flights were close together. No?
