Every two weeks, they will do a systematic search for the last 12 months. On January 15th (to pick a date), they will count your total nights from 1/16/2005 to 1/15/2006. On January 29th, they will count your total nights from 1/30/2005 to 1/29/2006. On February 12th, they will count your nights from 2/13/2005 to 2/12/2206. Repeat ad nauseum. If you have 50 nights accumulated in that 1 year period, you will be granted status.
I do have an additional question about this, when does status earned this way expire (same question I have on HH and it's never really been answered over on the Hilton forum)? Does it expire 12 months from when you get the required number of nights in the rolling 12 months or does it expire in February of the year after getting the status?
