Your first statement is not correct, there are many times the flights are staffed by FA's from multiple domiciles.

Your second statement is correct, they bid on a position number based on seniority. This does not mean the most senior FA's are alwas working F or C. My FA friend who is pretty junior tells me he is regularly "juniored" in to F class due to the perceived workload.

Also, the OP is regarding Brits working F/C cabins, there are many US nationals based out of LHR too.
