Doha, I found, was dullariffic, not much to do really, but the Airport is a shining example of how this place is building itself up in quite spectacular fashion from all the oil/gas money.

There is an Oryx Farm, that has loads of them, if you are at all interested. This is the goat type thing that's used as the logo for Qatar Airways. Was close to extinction apparently. Palm tree island also has a few good beaches... great for getting a winter tan to show off to colleagues when you get back to work. The fort is also worth a peek if you get bored.
