On my last trip through YUL in the fall, there was indeed free wireless. You had to "register", but it didn't cost anything.
But I certainly agree that the MLL are amazing compared to US Clubs or the RCC. It was bright and spacious, premium self-serve bar, red and white wine as well as port, and a selection of over 20 beers (bottles, cans, and draft.)
