I rent from Enterprise only if they are the cheapest.

I have rented from Enterprise several times. They are as follows:

1. Rented a sub compact car from local Enterprise. Cost $33 all in for 3 day weekend. (beats over $100 at MSP with high airport taxes).

2. Rented at SAT years ago. Very cheap. (approx $10/day). Inspected every detail of stratches/dents & put on paper. Tried to upsell me but not successful. I said that's why I have car insurance & credit card insurance. Return was no problem.

3. Rented in downtown Austin,TX. Airport rental was well over $100 w/taxes, etc. Took bus to/from DT Austin, paid $35 all in for a 3 day rental. Booked compact, received a full size car. ^

4. Girlfriend had her Chrysler at dealership for major mechanical work. She ended up renting from Enterprise & I met her there. She paid $35 for one day of compact car. I asked about the $30 three day weekend special. They said she can keep her compact car for the 4 days & pay the $35 plus $30. . Enterprise compact is small! (she had a Kia Rio--she is small so she fit fine). After the 4th day, I got her a Hertz car at HLE. For about $110 for a week, she ended up with a Madza 3. Very nice, sporty car. She liked it alot! ^ Her car was ready halfway through the weekly rental. I paid half for the Hertz rental, drove the nice Mazda 3 for the next 3.5 days & put lots of miles on it!

5. I have a upcoming Enterprise rental in Nashville. My rental is from Saturday to Tuesday. With the other rental companies, I would be charged for 2 weekend days & one very high weekday rate. With Enterprise, they were much less & I could use a free day coupon during the period.

Bottom line: Enterprise works decently for the special weekend rates & if they happen to be much less expensive. Be prepared for a vehicle inpection and upselling of insurance products more prevelant than with the majors.
