The lustre isgone, the good call centres are gone, and so are the 1K rooms.
But everything else is working as usual and I seem to get more overall
benefit out of it than ever before.

Have you been denied boarding until the folks with small kids were allowed to
board? That is quite unusual for UA. At least it has not happened to me in a
long time.
It is however a bad LH habit to deny boarding even to F pax and (super)
elites until all pax with needs made themselves comfortable onboard.
Otherwise I consent with you - there is no technical reason why the slow
pax should board first. Fast first works well for Formula 1, so it should be
ok for planes as well.
