E.g., my card (1st USA Visa with SWA tie-in) closes on the 20th. Hence, just purchase the bonds on the 22nd, get interest from the first, and you do not have to pony up the $ out of your MMA for another 45 days.
Were it not for the 3 month penalty for early redemption; one could see some real possibilities in the above approach with a perpetual rollover scenario.
