I am waiting for the New Year to arrive and look for ideas of what to do with my $250 Expedia coupon for a Japan travel package.

I noticed that Korean Airlines has a $504 RT airfare from LAX to NRT (a nonstop). Departure is now thru March 31, Monday thru Thursday travel only.

Expedia's airfare+hotel package search for March 23 through March 27 (depart Thursday, return Monday) prices out at about $770 for the airfare plus 3 nights at 1.5 star hotel. With a net cost of $520 (one person flying alone), I just can't pull the trigger on this. Curse you Expedia!

There is simply no bargain airfare availability out past March.

I wish Flyertalk had some kind on online calculator showing all the business we are taking to Travelocity or Orbitz or elsewhere instead of to Expedia. Whenever, someone buys a ticket from Travelocity that he would otherwise had bought from Expedia, let him add the cost to the Flyertalk "calculator" so that everyone can see the running total of business Expedia is losing for being so cheap!
