Sometimes weather that looks perfect to a non-pilot is not quite as perfect for a pilot. On the other hand, sometimes even the most experienced pilot will misjudge his/her approach!
Some of my worst bumpy flights were on beautiful clear sunny days. At low altitude the thermals were the worst.
