On some recent flights I have experienced some very hard landings. It seems like the plane came in to fast and it hit the runway very hard. It even shook up some frequent flyers. The weather was perfect.

Is this the fault of the pilot? Or is landing pretty much done by computers? Why is the landing so smooth sometimes and other times we hit the runway so hard? (All in perfect weather)???
