My double-booked "free" ticket never showed up on my card after several years... but then again, United.bomb was crapping out majorly that day, so who knows what kind of mess it made beyond creating two PNRs? Since they were on DL (this was back when UA and DL had that co-marketing agreement), there's even one more step in the process where they could have screwed things up with the money.
