You can either call SMS and request an upgrade or you can do it online at the 72 - hour mark. I'm very happy that Delta has not gone to EAUs or anythingsimilarly stupid. of course, upon reading this, Delta will make upgrades automatic. Upgrades are 1 per 800 miles. Enjoy!
