Certainly I've been hassled - I was gold medallion last year, but only 21 yrs. old. People at the ticket counters have simply been very rude because they didn't think I actually belonged in the medallion/first line. Usually, however, its been purely a function of how I am dressed. I usually fly out of SFO, and when I'm flying in first wearing a t-shirt and sandals with all the dot-commers wearing their corporate logo shirts, I don't get the same service. I've often been told by one flight attendant that the closet is too full to hold my hanging bag (after she/he has scowled at me after I showed my boarding card as proof as to why I was sitting up front) only to check it myself and find plenty of space or ask another attendant and verify that there is space. It's pretty lame. I've actually complained numerous times, and I must credit Delta with sending me a few hundred 'delta dollars' now and again.
By the way, I'm not a spoiled rich kid - just flew a lot for my job during the summers while in school.
