Sorry I wasn't clear - still a bit flustered from evening.

The equipment swap story is speculation on my part; really just my best guess (since every time I've taken the CHO flight, it leaves out of G1, and right before it boarded, CRW was switched from G14 to G1, and CHO was switched from G1 to G14). In other words, the plane that ultimately had a mechanical delay for charlottesville, I believe, had been on mechanical for some time.* I'm not sure if that's material in the end, but IF the weather really was the problem, then UA knew it had a certain window to fix the plane. While the weather is an act of God, UA still has (in my mind, though maybe not contractually), some of the responsibility.

UA's story is that it was delayed on a mechanical, but the ultimate cancellation was due to weather in Cville.* I don't know if the ILS is still acting up, but my point is that planes (both props and jets) still flew into CHO tonight.

*just want to be clear, the original reason given to passengers for the cancellation was mechanical, not weather.
