Secondly, since the whole premise of loyalty programs is to force flying activity, selling it defeats the idea. Hence, my conclusion that they have given up on these programs. Declaring yourself a low cost carrier, only to turn up on many searches as the highest fare in the market, ignoring your new customers, and now this kind of stuff, suggests there is more than a little confusion out there in the Valley of the Sun. On the other hand, if these guys had bought Cunard instead, they probably would have called the Queen Mary, Titanic.
