I've never actually had to do this, but I'm curious that if you did, would you still get RR credit for each of the individual legs? If you don't, it's probably not worth it then. Anyone know?
Very interesting idea. I guess I never thought of it. Has anyone done this.???
I think I get it, book a RT with City 1 to City 2 and the return as City 2 to City 3?
By the way, I have often booked 2 OWs rather than stopover flights (and same on return). Cost is often just a few bucks more -- once in a while a bit less. Extra Credits for RR and Comp. Pass. I make sure I have 1 hour or more to switch planes, as a precaution in case WN gets testy if I miss a flight. I have not, but thought about, making a back up reserv. on the connection, just in case.
I have had the agent check my bags all the way through.
Has anyone ever had problems with the bags checked on both flights. If so, it could be a real pain and time consuming to collect the bags in City 2 and recheck them on to City 3. In this case, it would pay to have a backup resev. in case the rechecking takes a long time.
