For this year's "Big" trip, we want to take a small boat cruise on the Amazon for about a week. The boat cruises seem to generally leave from either Manaus or from the Upper Amazon at Iquitos. Has anybody done both? One consideration is that we want to then go to Chile for a week of wine tours.

Is Manaus worth a day or two?
Any idea how many days by boat from Iquitos to Manaus and if there are any one way trips?
