You are absolutely correct about the long walks at T3. Upon doing a *A RTW trip more than a year ago which involved LHR with an SQ arrival and AC departure, it was a mile trek both during arrival and departure. My SQ flight arrived at Gate 40 and two days later I had to hike all the way to Gate 36 to catch the AC flight. It also didn't help that the travelators were malfunctioned during the time. SQ is one of the unfortunate carriers at T3 that frequently gets assigned the far gates (32, 35, 36, 40, 42). T3 is a dump and needs refurbishing. As a matter of fact I would rather have them tear down the place and start from fresh.
