While not the most exciting city in the world, you may want to check out the Westin Peachtree in Atlanta for a great city view. At 73 stories, it's the tallest hotel in the western hemisphere, according to the hotel and a couple of articles I've read. The link below suggests it's one meter shorter than the Marriott Renaissance Center in Detroit.
I spent a couple of months there earlier this year, and lying in bed looking out at the city from the floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows on the 68th floor is awe-inspiring. The hotel itself has gotten a bit long in the tooth, and I'd recommend skipping Sun Dial, the top-floor revolving restaurant. Stick to rooms with king beds if possible, as the double beds don't face the windows.

So far I have on my list:
Sydney
Hong Kong (Intercontinental ?)
Singapore
Bangkok
Tokyo (Park Hyatt?)
New York
San Francisco
Chicago
Rio De Janeiro
Dubai
This will be a combination of mileage run and a vacation. I'm ready to spend avr. 350$ /night. Which hotel to choose in these cities and which cities should I add to the list?
Thanks.
