My usual answer for this is... that is fine, we can check it, my lap top is in there and since it is not oversized according to the rules (mine fits in the size wise) I will need to insure it and you will have to issue me a waivor to cover loss of damage or theft to the laptop. At that point they look at me in disgust and let me board with my bag.
