The other caveat is that they can charge the "zone" fare per passenger--even if pax are travelling together. mrs. themicah and I got charged $20 (2x$10 zone fare) last night for a cab ride. I didn't argue too much, though, since we were technically crossing a zone boundary and I really didn't want to pay $30. Needless to say, I didn't tip.

I'm pretty sure the special service does go via Hoboken. But you don't have to switch trains. It's kinda like a "direct" flight (if PATH gave riders miles, you'd only get the nonstop mileage, too!).
