Prior to 9/11 I travelled 3-4 times a yr to Karachi for business. First time I stayed at the Marriott. Was nice, nothing great. It is right next to the US Consulate so now I would stay away.

The rest of my stays were at a small hotel called The Carlton. It is in a residential neighborhood next to a Country Club. I believe it is owned by a Dutch or Swedish company. It was quite nice with 2 or 3 restaurants. The Asian one was particulary good.

The rooms are nice. I used to stay in 1 of the 2 Royal Suites. 2 rooms with wood floors, nice decor. I think the cost was about $100 US a nite.

I do not have a website but I found a card. email is [email protected]

I havent been to Pakistan since 9/11 so I can not comment on safety for Westerners. Prior to that I never once felt threatened. Overall the Pakistani people are friendly and very warm.
