FAA threatens to refuse to renew KLM maintenance license
The FAA, upon inspection of KLM's Schiphol maintenance facilities, found poor discipline and employees not following company work procedures. Without acceptable changes being made, KLM's license to maintain American aeroplanes will be revoked as of January 2006. Dutch government inspectors see no real problem while the KLM maintenance personnel themselves are concerned with what they see as a poor safety culture and decisions being driven primarily by commercial considerations.
Who could imagine "poor discipline and employees not following procedures" at KLM? That never happens in the cabin!
